SUSHI AT HOME
OUR STORY
Sushi at Home was started 17 years ago by Ed Holmes, a professional sushi chef. During his training, Ed developed a passion for the pursuit of perfectionism in the purity and preciseness of preparing sushi. Ed is equally passionate about the quality of ingredients and sustainability, and as supermarkets began to sell refrigerated sushi boxes, Ed realised there was a gap in the market for fresh, hand made sushi.
Ed took a stall at Barnes food market and Sushi at Home was born. In the beginning, it was very much a family affair, with Ed’s wife and son working on the stall, helping with preparation, washing up and anything else chef Ed needed! Demand quickly grew and Arthur and Chris, both trained sushi chefs, joined the team. Sushi at Home opened a second stall in St. Margarets and expanded the business to supply fresh sushi platters for private functions and fun, creative sushi lessons in client’s homes.
Our customers return to our stalls week after week, and our chefs know most of them very well. Our customer knowledge means that Ed has developed a menu rooted in Japanese culture that is perfectly balanced in flavour and textures to suit European tastes.
